Optima® Battery Warranty – Limited Replacement Policy

OPTIMA® batteries sold by West Coast Batteries, LLC are covered under the official OPTIMA Batteries Limited Warranty administered by Clarios, LLC, the manufacturer of OPTIMA batteries.

 

Warranty Coverage Periods

YELLOWTOP® Deep Cycle / Dual-Purpose – Automotive, RV, Marine, Powersports 36 months
BLUETOP® Marine / RV Deep Cycle & Dual-Purpose 24 months
Commercial/Fleet Use Any heavy-duty, taxi, or industrial application 12 months

Coverage begins on the original purchase date and applies only to the original purchaser.
Replacement batteries carry the balance of the original warranty period and do not extend coverage.

 

What’s Covered

OPTIMA warrants that each new battery is free from defects in material and workmanship under normal use and service during the applicable coverage period.
If a manufacturing defect is verified, OPTIMA (through its authorized distributor, West Coast Batteries, LLC) will replace the battery at no charge within the stated replacement period.

 

What’s Not Covered

This limited warranty does not cover:

  • Batteries that have reached normal end of life through use or age
    Batteries that are deeply discharged or at 0 volts (indicating neglect or improper maintenance)
  • Damage caused by undercharging, overcharging, sulfation, freezing, or alternator faults
  • Use in an incorrect application (e.g., starting battery used for deep-cycle service)
  • Physical damage, tampering, or missing/altered labels
  • Labor, installation, towing, or shipping costs

Purchases made from unauthorized sellers, resellers, or auction/used sources are not eligible for warranty coverage.


Warranty Claim Process

To submit a warranty claim through West Coast Batteries:

  1. Bring or ship the battery to our warranty department.
  2. Include your proof of purchase (receipt or invoice).
  3. Our technicians will test the battery using an industry-standard conductance or resistance tester to confirm a manufacturing defect.
  4. If approved, a replacement battery will be issued at no charge within the coverage period.
